JOHN FROST – Executive Producer and Head of Programming KeepTheFaith Radio
John Frost is Keep The Faith’s chief programming officer—overseeing Keep The Faith’s on-air radio efforts.
John has been a successful major market disc jockey and program director for such companies as CBS, Cap Cities, Westinghouse, Sandusky, Gannett, and Alliance during his 38 year broadcast career. He is also a partner in Goodratings Strategic Services (GSS), a radio consulting firm.
Prior to joining GSS partner Alan Mason in 1999, Frost serviced as Vice President for Paxson Communications’ 47 radio station group in Florida. He stayed with Paxson through the transition of the company to launch the PAX TV network, which later became ION.
Before being promoted to VP of programming in 1996 at Paxson, Frost was Operations Manager for Paxson’s five station cluster in Orlando, Florida. It was at AC Magic 107.7 that Frost and Mason launched the first family values, “safe for the family” strategy, resulting in Paxson Communications’ first 12+ and #1 25-54 station.
Prior to Paxson, Frost was on the cutting edge of the Smooth Jazz format while program director of The Oasis in Dallas, one of the first Smooth Jazz stations to achieve a top five ranking adults 25-54.
In the last decade, Frost has been involved in the dramatic growth of Contemporary Christian radio, bringing mainstream programming strategies and research principles to help create and develop some of America’s most successful Christian music stations. Each of the four stations that won the GMA station of the year award in 2009 are stations with whom Frost and Mason work, an unprecedented accomplishment for a consulting firm.
Frost was recognized in 2008 by Radio and Records and in 2006 by Christian Radio Weekly as one of the most influential people in the Christian music industry. The Gospel Music Association honored him in 2004 with the Scott Campbell industry achievement award.
In recent years, Frost joined forces with well-known broadcaster Joe Battaglia to form Battaglia-Frost Creative Productions, Inc. He and Battaglia then teamed up with David Sams to form BigOyo, Inc., an intellectual property management and content distribution company. In addition, Frost serves on the board of CharityOne, which he co-founded.
